Assam Finance Minister to present state's first e-Budget today
Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he would present the state's first e-Budget at the Legislative Assembly in Guwahati on Monday. "The government will present the first e-Budget in the Assembly, and each legislator will be provided with a tablet (computer) with details of the Budget," said Sarma. The legislators will be able to access the tablets during discussions, the Finance Minister added.

Sarma also said that the legislators can cut motion on the Budget inside the House. The state Budget would also be available in Google app. Earlier in the day, Sarma took to Twitter and wrote: "This Budget will be a little lengthy. However, in every paragraph and sentence, I shall make an endeavor to spell out programs for a prosperous and developed Assam."
This is Assam's first e-Budget
Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: "Mediapersons covering the Budget presentation will be given a pen drive containing its details. The conventional paper Budget would be available as well."
