CPI(M) MLA Nayan Sarkar accused of online harassment
Tripura MLA Nayan Sarkar (CPI-M) has been accused by a married woman of harassing her on social media—asking about her husband's job, her travels outside Tripura, and even offering to join her on a trip to Guwahati, which she turned down. She further alleged that after she refused, Sarkar threatened both her and her husband over the phone.

Sarkar denies allegations, files counter-complaint
Sarkar has denied all allegations and filed a counter-complaint, challenging the woman to show proof or face defamation charges. He says the accusations are part of a conspiracy against him because of his political work. CPI(M) leader Jitendra Chaudhary also backed Sarkar, calling the claims "an attempt to malign him."
