BJP finally tells Shatrughan Sinha: Leave if you're unhappy

It seems the BJP has had enough of Shatrughan Sinha's barbs as the actor-turned-politician was recently advised to quit the party if he didn't like it. Sushil Modi, a senior leader of the BJP and prominent face in Bihar politics, was speaking at an event organized by a TV channel where he gave a piece of bitter advice to Sinha. Here's what happened.

He should quit if he doesn't like it: Sushil Modi

About Sinha, who is an MP from Patna Sahib, Modi said he was his icon too. "But the manner in which he is targeting the BJP, he should quit," Modi said. He added the kind of language Sinha has used for the party that gave him Lok Sabha tickets, sent him to Rajya Sabha, and made him a cabinet minister was unacceptable.

Modi dares Sinha to contest from Patna Sahib

Modi then dared Sinha to contest from Patna Sahib if he was so sure of his popularity. On Sinha's last parliamentary win, Modi said BJP leaders like Nand Kishore Yadav, Sanjeev Chaurasia, Arun Kumar Sinha and Nitisn Navin contributed to it. Notably, Modi's name is being floated as a probable candidate from Patna Sahib. About this, he said he would contest if the party decides so.

Sinha's meetings with opposition leaders left BJP red-faced

72-year-old Sinha has turned into a BJP rebel of sorts. He has been critical of a number of schemes of the Centre, including demonetization and GST, but it was his recent visits to opposition leaders which embarrassed the BJP. "He met Lalu Prasad and has started projecting his son as CM of Bihar," said Modi. Sinha had called Tejashwi Yadav a 'mature leader'.

PM Modi's schemes and decisions have prompted Sinha's criticism regularly

The list of Sinha's attacks on the Centre is long. In a direct tirade towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sinha claimed the government was a one-man show. He had asked why PM Modi didn't hold a single press conference in 4.5 years and advised him to 'come clean'. Quite recently, he questioned the appointment of 'TV actress' Smriti Irani as Union HRD Minister.

However, Sinha had clarified he will not change constituency

Interestingly, at the same event, Sinha made it clear he will contest 2019 from Patna Sahib. He said, "The BJP didn't give me a ticket; I took it on my own. And I will contest from Patna Sahib again." The constituency will be the same, even if the situation isn't, he claimed. At Patna Sahib, the battle between Sushil Modi and Sinha is on.
