Shatrughan Prasad Sinha is an Indian actor and politician born on December 9, 1945. Sinha received his first acting chance to play a Pakistani military officer in Dev Anand's 'Prem Pujari'. However, his first release was 'Sajan' (1969) as 'Prem pujari' was delayed. As a lead hero, some of his notable movies were 'Ab Kya Hoga,' 'Khan Dost,' 'Dillagi,' 'Yaaraon Ka Yaar,' 'Vishwanath,' Muqabla, and 'Jaani Dushman'. In 2008, he served as a judge on 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' Season 4 aired on STAR One TV. Sinha is known for portraying Chief Minister NT Rama Rao in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Rakta Charitra'. He also forayed into politics and had been a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) until 2019; he later switched to Indian National Congress (INC). Notably, Sinha served as a Lok Sabha Member (2009–2019) from the Patna Sahib constituency and as a Rajya Sabha member from 1996–2008. He was also the Union Cabinet Minister of Health and Family Welfare (2002-2003) as well as Shipping (2003-2004) in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. In 2016, his biography named 'Anything but Khamosh' was released. Actress Sonakshi Sinha is his daughter.
