Kumar Vishwas: News

A prolific poet and speaker, Kumar Vishwas began his political career in 2011 when Anna Hazare was leading the India Against Corruption movement. He became an active member of the movement along with Arvind Kejriwal, with his poetry recitations becoming a common event during campaigns and press conferences. Vishwas joined Kejriwal when the latter formed the Aam Admi Party (AAP) and stood for his first Lok Sabha election in 2014 but lost to heavyweight Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. The AAP named him as the in-charge of the 2018 Rajasthan elections but was soon removed by party leader Kejriwal due to his inactivity and underwhelming performance. Though he is no longer a part of the AAP, he is an active poet and speaker and attends several events across the country. Vishwas also hosts a talk show called 'KV Sammelan' on Aaj Tak. Vishwas, however, is no longer involved in active politics.
