Dhananjay Munde: News

Dhananjay Munde, the nephew of the late politician and BJP leader Gopinath Munde, is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He was born in 1975 in Parli, Maharashtra, and grew up in a political environment as his uncle was a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Beed. Munde has been passionate about politics from a young age and initially worked for the BJP before leaving behind his cousin, Pankaja Munde, who is a part of the saffron party. He joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 2013 and quickly rose to prominence, and proved to be an indispensable member of the party. At a young age, he was assigned the role of Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, a position he held for five years. He ran for the 2019 Assembly elections from Parli and defeated his estranged cousin Pankaja. As of 2021, he is a Cabinet minister in the Uddhav Thakeray-led government of Maharashtra and holds the portfolio of Minister for Social Justice and Special Assistance.
