Amazon just dropped a new Kindle update (version 5.18.6) that makes reading smoother—now you can preview footnotes and links without leaving your page, which is great for textbooks or research.
In recent months, they've also added better spacing controls and an Assistive Reader to help with readability.

On the flip side, this update has broken AdBreak, a popular jailbreak tool for ad-supported Kindles.
