Apple's iPhone Air designer moves to AI startup
Technology
Abidur Chowdhury, who played a big role in creating the iPhone Air and introduced it at a recent Apple event, has left Apple for an artificial intelligence startup.
His move is part of the ongoing shake-up in Apple's design team, which has been evolving since Jony Ive left back in 2019.
What's changing inside Apple's design team
Chowdhury isn't the only one moving on—Apple's design group has seen several departures lately, including Jeff Williams, the former COO who oversaw design.
The team now includes more fresh faces and younger talent. Plus, since November 2025, all design teams report directly to CEO Tim Cook.
