Google DeepMind unveils on-device Gemini robotics AI
Google DeepMind just rolled out an offline version of its Gemini Robotics AI, so robots can now work on their own without needing Wi-Fi.
This new model keeps the same smart skills as the original but is designed to run smoothly even without internet.
It helps robots handle real-world tasks and quickly learn new ones from just a few examples.
Gemini can run on various robots
Gemini started out on Google's ALOHA robot, but now it works with other bots like Apptronik's Apollo and Franka FR3 too.
Even offline, it performs almost as well as the main version, making it great for places where internet isn't reliable or security is tight.
Google's also sharing a software kit with trusted testers to help fine-tune and make sure everything stays safe.
Real-time action and understanding
Gemini brings together vision, language smarts, and physical action so robots can see what's happening, understand instructions naturally, and move with precision—all in real time.
This really pushes robotics tech forward in a big way!
