Google launches AI inbox for AI Ultra subscribers, Gemini 3-powered
Google just rolled out its AI Inbox for Google AI Ultra subscribers as of March 31, 2026.
This handy feature sits above your usual inbox and sorts emails into "Suggested to-dos" (think tasks and reminders) and "Topics to catch up on" (like events or travel plans), making it easier to focus on what matters.
Powered by Gemini 3, it keeps your data private, and you can turn it off any time if you want.
Gmail adds AI overviews and proofread
AI Inbox is part of a bigger toolkit Google's bringing to Gmail: there's also AI Overviews for smarter searches and a Proofread tool that polishes your writing.
After some time with Trusted Testers, the feature is now in beta for anyone with an AI Ultra subscription ($249.99 a month).
