ISS crew slept in lab module to avoid solar storm

Technology

The International Space Station crew had to switch things up after a wave of solar storms from sunspot AR4274.
While people on Earth enjoyed some incredible auroras, the astronauts faced higher radiation levels in orbit.
To play it safe, the station's three Russian cosmonauts were instructed to spend a night in the ISS laboratory module.

Russian cosmonauts slept in lab module

On November 11 and 12, cosmonauts Oleg Platonov, Sergey Ryzhikov, and Alexey Zubritsky were advised to sleep in the lab module for extra protection.
NASA's Sandra Jones said only the Russian team changed their routine—NASA and JAXA astronauts stayed put.
Despite all this, operations continued as usual, and astronaut Jonny Kim even shared some epic aurora views from space on social media.
