Massive asteroid approaching Earth

Heads up: On July 11, 2025, a giant asteroid called 2005 VO5 will make its closest pass by Earth since 1988.
It's nearly nine times the size of the Qutub Minar and will zoom past at a safe distance of roughly six million kilometers.
This kind of close encounter won't happen again until 2062.

TL;DR

Moving at around 51,700km/h

2005 VO5 is racing through space at around 51,700km/h—pretty wild!
Even so, it'll still be about 16 times farther from us than the Moon.
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is tracking it closely to make sure everything stays chill and to gather info for future space missions.

Can't see it with naked eyes

Sadly, you won't catch this one with your eyes—it's way too faint. Only professional telescopes will get a look.
Still, astronomers are eager to study it; watching this asteroid helps them learn more about near-Earth objects and keeps us prepared for anything unexpected in space.
