Microsoft retools software to build business AI agents needing security
Microsoft is shaking up its software to build AI agents that can actually reason, plan, and act in real-world business situations: think digital helpers that do more than just follow scripts.
Executive Vice President Jay Parikh says these new agents will need fresh security systems since they'll be interacting directly with the world, marking a major shift from old-school software.
Microsoft plans $190 billion in 2026
To keep pace with how fast AI is evolving, some Microsoft teams now operate week by week, and a few day by day, rather than locking in roadmaps for six months or a year.
The company is also planning to invest a huge $190 billion in 2026.
Parikh highlighted India's growing influence too: 27 million GitHub developers and lots of startups are driving innovation, backed by Microsoft's investments in data centers and skill-building programs.
