Waze now works on your phone while using Android Auto

Waze just rolled out an update that lets you use the app directly on your phone—even when you're connected to Android Auto.
No more being stuck with only the car's display or voice commands for navigation.
This feature is now widely available as of November 2025.

Why this is a big deal

If your car doesn't have a touchscreen or is tricky to control, this makes things way easier and safer.
Waze now matches what Google Maps and other apps already offer.
To get started, you might need to restart the Waze app once after updating, but then you're good to go.
