    Veteran Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed a solid three-wicket haul against Rajasthan Royals in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on Thursday.

    SRH managed 201/3 in 20 overs before Bhuvneshwar handed his side a perfect start with the ball.

    He claimed two wickets in the opening over. Bhuvi then weaved his magic in the final over, helping SRH win.

    A superb display from Bhuvneshwar

    It was a magical first over from Bhuvneshwar as he dismissed Jos Buttler for a first-ball duck.

    Sanju Samson fell for a three-ball duck. An inswinger did Samson in.

    In his second over, Bhuvneshwar conceded 15 runs. He came back to bowl the 13th over and conceded 14 runs.

    RR needed 13 runs in the 20th over and Bhuvi conceded 11, dismissing Rovman Powell.

    Bhuvi dismisses Buttler for the 7th time in T20s

    As per ESPNcricinfo, Bhuvneshwar has dismissed Buttler for the 7th time in T20s across 17 innings. Buttler owns 104 runs from 92 balls (SR: 113.04). He averages 14.85. Bhuvi remains the only bowler to have dismissed Buttler more than five times in T20s (overall).

    Joint-most number of wickets in the first over of IPL

    By dismissing both Buttler and Samson, Bhuvneshwar equaled Trent Boult's record of 27 wickets in an IPL innings's first over.

    The Indian seamer has done this across 119 innings and averages 22.03 in this regard.

    Notably, no other Indian player has more than 15 first-over wickets in the IPL as of now. Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar's tally includes as many as 466 dot balls.

    The veteran Indian pacer clocked 3/41 from his four overs. In 170 IPL matches, Bhuvi owns 178 wickets at 26.81.

    In 17 matches versus RR, Bhuvi owns 18 scalps at 30.83. In the ongoing IPL 2024 campaign, Bhuvi has raced to 8 wickets from 10 matches at 47.12.

    Overall in T20s, Bhuvi owns 296 scalps at 24.98 (ER: 7.29).

    SRH were helped by the trio of Travis Head, Nitish Reddy amd Heinrich Klaasen in posting 201/3. In response, SRH started well with the ball but Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag shone with a 134-run stand. SRH fought hard with Bhuvneshwar delivering.
