Champions League, gameweek 6: Qualified teams and key learnings
Gameweek 6 of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 came to an end and we are finally done with the group stage. Groups E-H were in action on Tuesday and there were some brilliant results on offer. Groups A-D played their matches on Wednesday. Atletico Madrid and Atalanta grabbed headlines after gaining qualification. Here are further details.
Record-breaking Bayern maintain 100% record, Olympiakos qualify for Europa
Group B already had Bayern Munich qualify as the toppers, whereas, Tottenham finished as the runners-up. The two sides met at the Allianz Arena and the German side was too good for Jose Mourinho's men. Bayern won all their six group stage matches to maintain a 100% record. Meanwhile, Olympiakos finished third and will play in the UEFA Europa League next.
Atletico qualify after beating Lokomotiv Moscow
Atletico Madrid moved into the last 16 of the UCL with a comfortable victory over Lokomotiv Moscow. Diego Simeone's men needed a win and they took matters into their own hands. The 2-0 win sees Atletico finish second behind Juventus. The Italian side remained unbeaten after beating Bayer Leverkusen to end with 16 points. Leverkusen will now play in the Europa League.
Atalanta stun Shakhtar to progress, City go unbeaten
Manchester City ended unbeaten in the group stage after a 4-1 victory against Dinamo Zagreb. Joining the Premier League champions was Italian club Atalanta. They stunned Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 away from home. After losing the first three games, Atalanta picked up seven points to make it through. Shakhtar, who finished third, will feature in the Europa League next.
PSG, Real impress in Group A
Paris Saint-Germain ended their group stage campaign as the toppers from Group A. They thrashed Galatasaray 5-0 to continue their rich form. Real Madrid won 3-1 against Club Bruges to end with 11 points. The latter finished third and will play the Europa League.

Bayern Munich and PSG look like the teams that can go the distance this season. Both these sides were brilliant in the group stage. Robert Lewandowski finished as the top goal-scorer in the group stage (10). He can break the Ronaldo-Messi dominance this term. The two legends have scored two goals this season so far.
