Hailing from the industrial town of Bokaro, Jharkhand, Kumar Kushagra is another cricketer inspired by the legendary Indian captain, MS Dhoni, who hails from the same state. Born on October 23, 2004, Kushagra became the talk of the town when he was chosen to represent India in the 2020 U-19 World Cup. One of the youngest members of the team, he was only 15 at the time of the World Cup. With maturity beyond years and a knack for finishing the game, Kushagra began turning heads with his performances in various U-19 tournaments for Bokaro and Jharkhand. A wicketkeeper-batsman, Kushagra made his India U-19 debut against South Africa U-19 in 2019. He has received praises from Jharkhand U-19 coach for his technique and calmness while batting. Indian batting legend and U-19 coach Rahul Dravid also praised Kushagra's skills as a batsman and a wicketkeeper. In the 2020 U-19 World Cup, he was only able to play a single match. He made his List A debut for Jharkhand in the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Madhya Pradesh.
