South Africa managed 102/0 against West Indies in 2023. SA needed 259 runs after WI scored 258 in the second T20I. Openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks helped SA get off to a solid start. De Kock managed 64 from 24 balls whereas Hendricks smashed a 12-ball 35 in the PP overs. SA managed 259/4 in 18.5 overs with de Kock slamming 100.

West Indies scored 98/4 in the powerplay, while chasing a target of 132. Keiron Pollard smashed six-sixes in the sixth over. Before that, Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis handed WI a solid start. Nicholas Pooran, who arrived in the second over, attacked from the outset as he collected 36 runs off just 13 balls in this phase. Charles complimented him by scoring 35 off 19.
