BMW teases fourth-generation X3 with bigger footprint and nifty upgrades
BMW has shared exciting details about the upcoming fourth-generation X3, set to be globally unveiled in the coming weeks. The new model is projected to be larger and more streamlined, featuring a range of combustion engine powertrains. Despite the heavy camouflage in BMW's teaser images, significant exterior changes are noticeable on the new X3, which is built on the company's CLAR platform.
The new model has a lower drag coefficient
The fourth-generation X3, codenamed G45, is expected to surpass its predecessor's dimensions of 4.7m length and near-1.9m width. The brand has successfully lowered the SUV's drag coefficient from 0.29 to 0.27, promising improved fuel efficiency. The new model also boasts a wider track than the outgoing G01 generation and a reduced lift at the rear axle.

BMW has increased rigidity and upgraded anti-roll bars in the new X3, promising an engaging drive without compromising ride quality. An adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers will be available as an optional extra.
