Arvinder Singh Lovely is an Indian National Congress (INC) politician and a former four-time Member of the Legislative Assembly from Delhi. Lovely did his BA in Political Science from SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi. A student political leader of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), he became General Secretary of the Youth Congress and NSUI in the 1990s. He later went on to head the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC). Lovely became the youngest member of the Delhi Assembly in 1998, elected that year from the Gandhi Nagar constituency. He retained the seat consecutively in 2003, 2008, and 2013, becoming a four-time Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). During the tenure of Sheila Dixit-led Delhi government, Lovely served as the Cabinet Minister for Education, Urban Development & Revenue, Tourism, and Transport, among other portfolios. He briefly switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2017, ahead of the municipal polls, but returned to INC the following year, citing ideological differences.
