Baijayant Jay Panda is an Indian politician and entrepreneur. Born on January 12, 1964, he is the son of Ila Panda, the former Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha. He is the vice-president and national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was associated with the Biju Janata Dal but was expelled in 2018, following anti-party activities. Following his rift with BJD, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019. He became a Rajya member twice, first in 2000 and again in 2006, representing BJD. In 2009, he entered Lok Sabha after winning the Kendrapara seat from BJD’s ticket. In 2014, he again won the Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat. He serves as the vice-president of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA). His wife Jagi Mangat Panda is the Managing Director of Ortel Communications Ltd.
