Astronomy: Venus, Saturn to appear close in the sky Sunday
Technology
On March 8, 2026, Venus and Saturn will line up super close in the western sky, just 1° apart, making for a cool sight after sunset.
Even though they'll look like neighbors, they're actually about 900 million miles away from each other!
How to spot the planets
Head outside after sunset (adjust for your local time zone) and find a clear view of the western horizon.
Both planets will be visible until about 8:02pm EDT. Venus will shine brighter than Saturn.
Saturn will soon disappear from view
Venus is sticking around in our evening skies until summer, but Saturn will soon disappear from view, so this is your best shot to see them together before Saturn returns as a morning planet in April.
