Microsoft reportedly seeks AWS help to stop GitHub outages
Microsoft is reportedly seeking help from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help stop those annoying GitHub outages.
With more developers using AI tools, GitHub's servers have been struggling to keep up.
While Microsoft still plans to move everything over to Azure by 2027, they're using multiple cloud providers for now so the platform can handle all the extra traffic.
GitHub expects 14B code changes
GitHub has exploded in popularity: COO Kyle Daigle says code changes are expected to jump from 1 billion in 2025 to a whopping 14 billion in 2026.
That huge spike has put serious strain on their systems, leading to outages and slowdowns.
Microsoft is investing $190 billion in new data centers by 2026, but until that's ready, reportedly seeking help from AWS should help keep things stable and protect GitHub's reputation among developers.
