Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed the Punjab Kings by nine wickets in match number 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season on Wednesday. Punjab beaten by all-round SRH in Chennai
Punjab had a poor start and managed just 32/1 in the powerplay overs. From there on the SRH bowlers hunted the PBKS batsmen with regular wickets. Rashid Khan stood out with figures of 1/17. Abhishek Sharma and Khaleel claimed five wickets between them. In reply, SRH openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow added 73 runs for the first wicket. They laid the foundation.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/16) has equaled the wickets tally of R Ashwin (139 scalps). They are now the joint-fifth highest wicket-takers in the competition. He has 22 scalps against PBKS, equaling Lasith Malinga's tally. Rashid Khan (1/17) has raced to 80 wickets. He has equaled the likes of Axar Patel and Imran Tahir. Rashid has an economy rate of 5.06 this season, claiming five wickets.
Khaleel registers his best figures in the IPL
Playing his 19th match, Khaleel has raced to 31 wickets in the competition. The left-arm pacer now has eight wickets against Punjab. He has notched his best figures in the IPL (3/21). He claimed his fourth wicket in IPL 2021 at just 11.25.
Warner registers these feats
David Warner scored 37 from 37 balls at a strike rate of 100.00. The southpaw has 5,384 runs at 42.39. Warner hit three fours and a six. He now has 199 sixes in the cash-rich league. He extended his tally to 943 runs against Punjab in 20 matches at 52.38. Warner has raced to 68 catches in the IPL.
KL Rahul second-fastest to 5,000 T20 runs
Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul managed to score just four runs today. However, Rahul is now the second-fastest to get 5,000 T20 runs. He has got to this mark in 143 innings. Notably, Chris Gayle is the fastest. He has done it in 132 innings.
Bairstow shines for SRH
Bairstow became the first SRH batsman to get past 150 runs in IPL 2021. He slammed his second fifty this season and seventh overall. He also went past the 950-run mark in the IPL and surpassed Cameron White's tally (954).
