SRH finished eighth in the IPL 2021 standings, having won three and losing 11 games. They finished with six points and were below seventh-placed Rajasthan Royals. SRH managed two wins from their last five league games to end on a poor note. SRH finished with a Net Run Rate of -0.545.

Williamson has amassed 1,885 runs in the IPL at 35.39. He needs 115 more to register 2,000 runs. He can become the third SRH player after Warner and Shikhar Dhawan to smash 2,000-plus runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has claimed 142 wickets in the IPL and is eight shy of 150. WIlliamson (63 matches) is 12 shy of becoming the fifth SRH player with 75-plus matches.
