Barry Allen: News
Bartholomew Henry "Barry" Allen is a superhero character appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Allen is a reinvention of a former character called the Flash. Created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino, Allen, the second Flash, made his first appearance in 'Showcase' #4 (October 1956). He is a forensic chemist with a reputation for always being slow and late. But, one night, a lightning bolt strikes, shattering a case full of unspecified chemicals and drenching Allen all over, causing him to pass out temporarily. As a result, he later finds that he possesses super-human speed along with equally enhanced reflexes, senses, and healing. Allen first appeared in the animated form in the 1967 TV series ‘The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure’ and in the associated ‘Super Friends’ program. The character has also appeared in several DC Extended Universe films, including ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, ‘Suicide Squad’, ‘Justice League’, and ‘Zack Snyder's Justice League’.
