A right-arm leg spinner and a left-handed batsman, Indian cricketer Karn Sharma is a bowling allrounder from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, who has represented India in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He began his first-class career in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy for Railways. Sharma was a specialist batsman in the team. With time, however, he realized that his skills were better suited for a bowler and concentrated more on his leg-breaks and googlies. His breakthrough season in the domestic circuit came in 2012-2013. For his performances that season, he won BCCI's Best U-25 Cricketer award. It was in IPL that Sharma really made his mark. He made his debut in the 2009 edition for Royal Challengers Bangalore and was later bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. In the 2013 and 2014 seasons of IPL, he picked up a combined 26 wickets. This paved the way for Sharma to the national team. His international debut came in a T20I against England in September 2014. In the next three months, he made his ODI and Test debut as well. Although he did not have a great start in T20I and ODIs he played, his nightmarish Test debut against Australia in Adelaide effectively ended his international career.
