Alexis Ohanian is an American entrepreneur, who co-founded social news website Reddit, along with Steve Huffman, in 2005. Married to reputed professional tennis player Serena Williams, Alexis recently resigned from the board of the company, after Reddit faced backlash over how it handled the issue of racism through the various discussion groups it hosts. As a parting note, the 37-year-old had requested that he be replaced by a black person, in view of the widespread protests, being held in the US, against police brutality and demanding racial justice. Honoring Alexis’ request, the board has named a Silicon Valley insider and Y Combinator Chief Executive Officer Michael Seibel as his replacement. Interestingly, Alexis was also a former partner of Y Combinator, a seed money startup accelerator.
