Android 10: News
The 17th version of Android mobile OS, Android 10 was released in September 2019. Reportedly by March 2020, almost 12.33% of Android devices started running on this OS, making it the second most popular Android version. Reviewers say features like the long-requested dark mode, live-captioning videos while being played, Smart Reply feature for all messaging apps, settings having a dedicated Privacy section, etc, are possible reasons. Initially made available on Pixel phones, it slowly made its way to other devices, like Galaxy S20 and Z Flip. Interestingly, this is the first Android OS devoid of any codename. To recall, Google named the previous titles after desserts, like Android 9.0 (Pie), Android 8.1 (Oreo), etc, but stopped the custom citing non-inclusivity to international users.
