Harsha Bhogle: News

Over 400 ODIs and 100 Tests—these are not the numbers of a cricketer. These are the numbers of the man whose voice was rated the sexiest on the radio by Australians in 1992. Harsha Bhogle, the Indian equivalent of Richie Benaud, according to the legendary Adam Gilchrist, is the face and voice of the Indian cricket for many. He is a chemical engineer who has his master's in business is the last person one would imagine to become a pioneer in cricket commentary. Bhogle began his commentating journey at the age of 19 with the All India Radio. He rose to prominence after he became the first Indian to be invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation during 1991-92. With his commentating and unbiased analysis, he put India on the map. In a global poll conducted by 'Cricinfo', Bhogle was most people's choice as their most favorite commentator. Over the years, he has increased his virtual presence with various shows on TV and internet podcasts, among other things. He has written a few books as well, including 'The Winning Way' with his wife Anita Bhogle, a biography of Mohammed Azharuddin, and a collection of his articles titled 'Out of the Box'.
