Showbiz is an exciting industry that never fails to surprise the audience. And with so much happening in the glamour world, it's certainly difficult to keep a tab of what's going on. However, this weekly round up will be an answer to your curiosity about the entertainment world as we bring the biggest news of the week in just a scroll. Here's a look.
The week started with a big announcement by Akshay Kumar, who confirmed his next project, Prithviraj. Sharing the teaser of the upcoming period drama, the superstar revealed that it will be his first historic movie, which will be based on Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Notably, Prithviraj will be released on Diwali next year, and will witness a box office clash with Kangana Ranaut's Dhaakad.
Another big news came from Bollywood's first family, as Rishi Kapoor returned to India after "11 months, 11 days." The veteran actor had flown to New York after he was diagnosed with cancer last September. Soon after his return, he was seen enjoying Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with Neil Nitin Mukesh's family. Reportedly, Rishi is also expected to get back on sets by September end.
Aamir Khan surprised his fans (and not in a good way) after he announced his decision to collaborate with #MeToo accused director Subhash Kapoor for Mogul. He said that he cannot take away Kapoor's right to earn a livelihood. His decision didn't go down well with Tanushree Dutta, who slammed him for being insensitive towards sexual harassment victims. We are with you, Ms. Dutta.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who will be making her Bollywood comeback with Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink, is beaming with happiness as her movie's trailer received a thunderous response from the audience. Adding to her joy, the movie was premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival 2019 (TIFF), where it got an overwhelming response, followed by a standing ovation from the audience.
Salman Khan, who has been teasing his fans with glimpses from his much-awaited movie, Dabangg 3, finally unveiled its first motion poster. The movie marks Salman's return as police officer Chulbul Pandey, with a swag. Interestingly, the poster was released in four languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. And, for each of the motion posters, the team came up with different one-liners.
Not just Bollywood, the telly world also witnessed a big dhamaka, as Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 got its first crorepati of the season. Sanoj Raj, an IAS aspirant from Bihar, went on to become the first person to win Rs. 1cr on it. While hopes were high about him winning Rs. 7cr, the highest amount of KBC11, he bowed out before taking the leap.
Bigg Boss 13 is all set to go on air this month, and it's reported that the show will come with a horror theme. The reports also suggest that the contestants will be divided into two groups - Players and Ghosts. Besides, for the first time in the history of BB, host Salman Khan will be deciding the first elimination of the show.
