Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy join 'The Magic Faraway Tree' adaptation
Hollywood actors Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy have been confirmed for the cinematic adaptation of Enid Blyton's popular children's book, The Magic Faraway Tree. The story centers around a modern family relocating to a remote area in the English countryside. Garfield, best known for his roles in Tick, Tick...BOOM! and Hacksaw Ridge, will portray Tim, while Foy of All of Us Strangers and The Crown fame will play Polly.

The film is a joint venture between Neal Street Productions, Elysian Film Group, and Ashland Hill Media Finance. The production phase will start in June 2024, with additional casting decisions still underway. BAFTA winner Simon Farnaby, known for his work on Wonka and Paddington 2, has penned the script. Directing duties will be spearheaded by Ben Gregor, recognized for his contributions to Britannia, Cuckoo, and Black Ops.

CAA Media Finance is co-managing US rights and will be promoting the film at the upcoming Cannes market, reported Hollywood media. The production team includes Academy Award nominee Pippa Harris and Nicolas Brown from Neal Street Productions, Danny Perkins from Elysian Film Group, and Jane Hooks.
