The Supreme Court in 2017 suspended the sale of firecrackers till November 1 to curb the alarming air pollution in New Delhi. The ban was on the sale of firecrackers, not the use of it. In August, 2018, Centre ruled out the nationwide ban on firecrackers. They suggested a freeze on the production of Laris or series crackers.
