Gionee is a Chinese smartphone maker headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The company was founded in 2002 by Liu Lirong and in 2018, after months of bankruptcy, Gionee was acquired by India’s Jaina Group which is also the parent company of Karbonn Mobiles. At present, it manufactures smartphones in both India and China and sells in multiple countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. In the US and North American markets, a manufacturer named BLU Products sells rebadged Gionee phones under their brand name.
