Abhinav Kashyap is an Indian actor, director, and actor born on September 6, 1979. He is the younger brother of leading Bollywood film director, Anurag Kashyap. He made his debut as a director in the 2010 action film ‘Dabangg’, which he co-wrote with Dilip Shukla. He also directed and co-wrote ‘Besharam’ (2013). ‘Dabangg’ earned Kashyap a nomination at Filmfare Awards in the category of Best Director in 2011. Before venturing into the film industry, he has worked in numerous television serials as a director such as ‘Darr’ (1995), ‘Ssshhhh...Koi Hai’ (2001), ‘Siddhant’ (2004), and ‘Shakira - The End Of Evil’ (2007). He has worked as an assistant to film director Mani Ratnam for the film political thriller ‘Yuva’ (2004). Kashyap also wrote dialogues for movies such as ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ (2007) and ‘13B’ (2009). He is a notable alumna of the Scindia School, Gwalior, and completed his undergraduate degree in English (Hons.) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi in 1995.
