Lendl Mark Platter Simmons is a West Indies cricket player from Trinidad and Tobago who is also a part-time wicket-keeper. He is the nephew of former Trinidadian cricket player and cricket coach Phil Simmons. Lendl has played 68 Test matches and 66 T20Is in his career span. He has shown his capability as a batsman in the T20 format and the limited-overs format. He played in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2002 in New Zealand where he scored 222 runs in seven matches. He was also a part of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2004 in Bangladesh where he scored 219 runs in eight matches. In December 2006, Lendl made his international debut in an ODI against Pakistan. The following year, he made his T20I debut against England at The Oval. In 2009, he made his Test debut against England. He is a regular member of the West Indies T20 team. In 2014, he was selected by Mumbai Indians to play as a replacement for Jalaj Saxena. He played an important role in the team’s victory during IPL 8. In 2016, he also played for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
