Rajeev Chandrasekhar is an Indian politician, technocrat, and entrepreneur who is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He serves as the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology of India. Chandrasekhar represents Karnataka as a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha. Previously, he was also a National Spokesperson of the BJP and the Vice-Chairman of the Kerala wing of the BJP-led coalition National Democratic Alliance. Chandrasekhar joined the BPL Group in 1991 and founded BPL Mobile in 1994. Following this, he founded Jupiter Capital. In 2008, he started Asianet News Online Private Ltd. and in 2018, he was appointed as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha as a BJP member. As a first-term MP, he became the first person to raise corruption such as the 2G Scam case in the parliament. In 2013, Visvesvaraya Technological University awarded him with an honorary doctorate for his work as an entrepreneur. In 2017, Chandrasekhar was ranked #41st in India’s 50 Most powerful people by India Today magazine.
