Yogendra Yadav is a psephologist, academic, social activist, and politician. He is the National President of Swaraj India. Yadav did his BA from SGN Khalsa College, University of Rajasthan, and obtained an MA in Political Science from JNU, Delhi. He completed his MPhil in Political Science from Panjab University and started teaching the subject as a professor. Yadav later worked as a psephologist, conducting comprehensive elections studies and surveys across India. He has been a senior fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) and regularly appears on television news channels as a political analyst. Between 2005 and 2012, Yadav was an advisor for Political Science at NCERT and oversaw the writing of new Political Science textbooks for Classes IX to XII. He was a member of the National Advisory Council (NAC), looking after the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Yadav was a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since 2012 but was expelled in 2015. The same year, he, along with Prashant Bhushan and others, founded a political organization called Swaraj Abhiyan, which later launched the Swaraj India political party in 2016.
