Later on, he also served as the assistant coach of the Indian cricket team for 5 consecutive years. He has represented India in 12 ODI’s and 15 Test matches. In November 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore, an Indian Premier League team, promoted batting consultant Sanjay Bangar to head coach for the next two years. He still continues to serve his nation while training and coaching other budding cricketers like him who have a dream of making it to the Indian cricket team.
