Kedarnath Bhattacharya, widely known as Kumar Sanu, is an Indian playback singer born on October 20, 1957. He had his first major Bollywood song in the 1989 film 'Hero Hiralal'. Though he primarily works in the Hindi music industry, Sanu has sung in various languages, including Bengali, Odia, Urdu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Punjabi, and Nepali, among others. The Government of India awarded him Padma Shri in 2009. Sanu also holds the record of winning five consecutive Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer between 1990 and 1994. He won Filmfare Awards for his songs in movies like 'Aashiqui', 'Deewana', 'Baazigar', 'Saajan', and '1942: A Love Story'. Sanu sang his first western-style song 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhe' for the movie 'Baazigar'. He is often referred to as the "King Of Melody in Bollywood." Some of his widely acclaimed songs include 'Tu Mile Dil Khile', 'Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain', 'Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai', 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha', 'Ab Tere Bin', and 'Kuch Na Kaho', among others.
