Ali Zafar, a Pakistani singer-songwriter, actor, screenwriter, model, and producer, was born on May 18, 1980. Before becoming a musician, Zafar started out on Pakistani television. He also ventured into Bollywood. Zafar’s success led several Pakistani actors to venture into Hindi films. He started his profession as a music composer. Zafar became popular after his single ‘Channo’ from his debut album ‘Huqa Pani.’ The song topped many music charts and sold over five million copies worldwide. In 2010, Zafar made his debut as an actor with a leading role in the Bollywood movie ‘Tere Bin Laden.’ The film turned out to be a moderate box office success and earned him critical appreciation as well as various nominations in the Best Male Debut category, including Filmfare. Later, he worked in several films like ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan,’ ‘Dear Zindagi,’ and ‘Chasme Baddor.’ Zafar also earned five Lux Style Awards as well as an award from Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi in Islamabad.
