Anil Vij: News

Born on March 15, 1953, Anil Vij is a BJP politician. As of 2021, he is the Minister of Home, Minister of Urban Development, and Minister of Technical Education in the Manoharlal Khattar government. A former State Bank of India employee, Vij joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in college. He was inducted as the General Secretary of ABVP in 1970 and as the State President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in 1991. He entered Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1990 after winning from the Ambala Cantonment constituency. He was elected as the MLA from Ambala Constituency in 1996, 2000, 2009, 2014, and 2019. In 2014, Vij was suspended from the Assembly for making derogatory remarks against a woman minister. Between 2014 and 2019, he held the charge as the Minister of Science & Technology, Minister of Health, Minister of Medical Education, Minister of AYUSH, and Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, in the Haryana government.
