Bhupender Yadav: News

A seasoned politician from Rajasthan, Bhupender Yadav is one of the key strategists of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Born on 30th June 1969 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, Yadav has been a central figure in BJP’s victory in various elections. A lawyer by profession, Bhupender Yadav was an advocate in the Supreme Court before he became active in electoral politics. He began his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh when he became the general secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, the lawyer wing of RSS. In 2010, he became a National Secretary in the BJP. As a strategist, Yadav was one of the frontmen in the Bharatiya Janata Paraty’s victory in elections in different states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, etc. Once a popular leader in Rajasthan, Yadav made his Parliamentary debut in 2012 when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. He retained the seat in 2018. His membership in various parliament select committees earned him the nickname ‘Committee Man’. In 2021, he was inducted into the Narendra Modi Cabinet as the Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
