Dilip Ghosh: News
Dilip Ghosh is an Indian politician from the state of West Bengal who served as the 9th President of the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He represents the Medinipur constituency as the Member of the Parliament in Lok Sabha, as of 2021. Ghosh was born on August 1, 1964, in Jhargram. He has claimed that he completed his diploma in engineering from a polytechnic college in Jhargram, according to an affidavit filed with the Election Commission of India. A case was also filed in the Calcutta High Court regarding this matter, which was later dismissed. In 1984, he began his political career as a Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). From 1997-2007, Ghosh was in-charge of RSS in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and also worked as an assistant to former RS chief KS Sudarshan. In 2014, he was loaned into BJP, and in 2015, he was appointed as the party’s West Bengal President. In 2016, he made his electoral debut. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won 18 Lok Sabha seats out of 42 in Bengal with 40.25% votes, under his leadership.
