Sachin Tendulkar, also known as ‘Master Blaster’ or ‘Little Master,’ is a former international cricket player and former captain of the Indian national cricket team. He is considered one of the best batsmen in cricket history. The former right-handed batsman was born on April 24, 1973, in Mumbai. He is also a part-time bowler who can bowl off and leg breaks. He is the highest run-scorer of all time in international cricket. He is also the first-ever batsman to score a double century in an ODI. He is the only player in the history of cricket to score one hundred international centuries. Tendulkar is the only cricket player to complete over 30,000 runs in international cricket. He has played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs in his career span. At the age of 16, Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in 1989 where he scored 15 runs. He has received numerous accolades in his career including an Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, and Padma Vibhushan. He is the first sportsman to receive the Bharat Ratna. He bid farewell to ODI cricket in 2012 and retired from T20 in 2013.
