Considered to be one of the most trusted medical practitioners in the country, Fauci has been serving as the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. He has also served as an advisor to every US president since Ronald Reagan. Further, he is a physician with National Institutes of Health (NIH), and has contributed to HIV/AIDS and other immunodeficiencies research. The noted doctor has been accorded with several honors and awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008 and Robert Koch Prize (Gold) in 2013.
