Kailash Gahlot is an advocate and a politician belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). As of 2021, he is the Minister for Law, Justice, and Legislative Affairs, Transport, Revenue, Information & Technology, and Administrative Reforms in the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government. Gahlot is a Member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from the Najafgarh constituency. He did his BA in Political Science, LLB, and LLM from the University of Delhi. He practiced as an advocate in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He was elected as a Member Executive in the Bar Association of the Delhi High Court from 2005 to 2007. Gahlot contested for the first time in the Delhi assembly elections in 2015 from the Najafgarh constituency as an AAP candidate. He won the election and retained his seat in the 2020 Assembly elections. Gahlot has held several key portfolios in the Delhi Government.
