Google Lens: News
An AI-powered image recognition technology, Google Lens was launched in 2017. Its app previews were initially made available on Google Pixel 2, with it being rolled into Google Assistant for Pixel and Pixel 2 phones. A year later, Google Lens was officially released on non-Pixel phones via Google Photos. The iOS version of Google Photos got the support for Lens in March 2018. June 2018 saw Google Lens getting its standalone app that was being offered on Google Play. To run Lens, one would need phones having Android Marshmallow (6.0) or newer. Through Lens, one can learn about a certain object the phone is pointing at, and also get similar suggestions based on the result, of course with the help of Google assistant.
