Triple Talaq, also known as instant divorce and talaq-e-mughallazah (irrevocable divorce), is a type of divorce practiced in Islam. It allows any Muslim man to legally divorce his wife by stating the word talaq three times in oral, written, or electronic form. The status of Triple Talaq created controversies in India and in September 2018, Government declared Triple Talaq as a punishable offence.
