Lockie Ferguson is a professional cricket player from New Zealand who plays for the New Zealand national team. The right-arm fast bowler also plays first-class cricket for Auckland. Ferguson was born on June 13, 1991, in New Zealand. The right-handed batsman is mostly used as a fast bowler in his team. He is the second player in cricket history to take two wickets on the first two balls of his career. Ferguson has played 37 ODIs and 13 T20Is in his career span. He started his career in first-class cricket in the 2012-2013 season, where he played for Auckland in the Plunket Shield tournament. In 2016, he made his ODI debut for New Zealand against Australia. Ferguson was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants for Rs. 50 lakhs in February 2017 for IPL 10. He was again bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 12 in December 2018. Ferguson took his first-ever five-wicket haul in T20I against West Indies on November 27, 2020. He was selected in the New Zealand squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in August 2021.
